Older Adults

The Downers Grove Fire Department offers programs specifically designed for Older Adults. Recognizing the special needs of this growing
segment of the general population, the programs are built around a sense of independence and pride, yet diminishing physical ability. Upon
request, the department will provide presentations covering fire prevention practices, home safety surveys, medical emergencies, emergency
evacuation procedures, and fire department services.

Programs have been well received by local retirement centers, civic groups, and senior citizen groups. Invite the Downers Grove Fire
Department to your next meeting for an informative and interactive program. Visits to retirement communities, condominiums, and other
associations can be followed by a scheduled fire drill and critique with all residents.
